Elements of Graphic Design and Color

In week 02, DCC180 BYU Pathway Worldwide, two of our assignments, asked us to create a poster, first only in black and white, then transform it with color. It needed various elements of design, information and viewer clarity. I decided to make a mock event for my nephew Cole, who has just begun training for arm wrestling. Using modified typography, alignment, and imagery, I designed a poster that conveys strength and action.

In the color version, I chose a monochromatic color palette. I chose red as a strong and dominate color theme to convey the passion and intensity of these events.

Although Cole has not yet participated in a competitive arm wrestling event, I foresee he will be be very active and successful in the sport.
